Work groups

The SMOLTPRO research is organized into six integrated work groups. Each work group has a leader responsible for: (1) coordinating the activities of the work group, (2) its interaction with other work groups, and (3) the reporting of results from the work group activities to the steering group. Below the main responsibilities and important deadlines for each work group is summarized.

 


WG1: Hatchery experimental design and sampling

This group is responsible for designing and coordinating all experimental manipulations and associated sampling schemes in the SMOLTPRO model hatcheries.

Group members: Svante Winberg (responsible), Eva Brännäs, Johan Dannewitz, Sigurd Einum, Ian Fleming, Eli Kvingedal, Erik Höglund, Jörgen Johnsson, Angela Pauliny, Snuttan Sundell, Anders Alanärä and Hatchery directors.

 


WG2: Post-release tagging and monitoring

This group, which works in close contact with WG1, is responsible for designing and coordinating all post-release experiments, including tagging, monitoring of traps, listening stations etc.

Group members: Kim Aarestrup (responsible), Sigurd Einum, Ian Fleming, Johan Höjesjö, Stefan Larsson and Hans Lundqvist.

WG3: Meta-analysis of existing data

This group is responsible for collecting and integrating existing data in the research area using a meta-analytic approach. This data will support the experimental results of WG1 and WG2 in providing input for WG4, 5 and 6.

Group members: Ian Fleming (responsible), Kjetil Hindar, Jörgen Johnsson, Hans Lundqvist and Erik Petersson, Rasmus Kaspersson, Eli Kvingedal.

 


WG4: Stake holder interactions and outreach

This group is responsible for SMOLTPRO:s dialogue with relevant stake holders, including research groups with related aims. Feedback from WG4 will be important for producing the guidelines (WG6).

Group members: Anders Alanärä (responsible), Kim Aarestrup, Kjetil Hindar, Erik Petersson and Snuttan Sundell, Maria Prager (webmaster), stakeholders.

WG5: Economic and ethical analysis

This group is responsible for the economic and ethical analysis of the research of SMOLTPRO. Input for these analyses is provided by WG2, 3 and 4. WG5 is critical for production of the end-product, the hatchery guidelines (WG6).

Group members: Anders Skonhoft (responsible), Kjetil Hindar and Petra Andersson.

 


WG6: Production of hatchery guidelines

This group is responsible for producing the end-product of SMOLTPRO: the hatchery guidelines. Input from all the other working groups will be integrated to achieve this goal.

Group members: Jörgen Johnsson (responsible), Steering group and Hatchery directors.
