SMOLTPRO-researcher gets the first Wallenberg-Professorship

News: Dec 17, 2013

The Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry announced the first Wallenberg-professorship, and it has a fishing and aquaculture focus.
The Academy appointed Professor Ian A. Fleming, Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada, to the holder of the 2014 KSLA Wallenberg-professorship.

Professor Ian Fleming works with aquaculture from the perspective of conservation of wild fish populations and will be affiliated with the University of Gothenburg, Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences. In January, on the occasion of the Academy's 200th anniversary, Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation donated 12 million SEK to the Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry. For the donated money KSLA set up seven guest-professorships, of which the first was given to SMOLTPRO researcher Ian A. Fleming.
